Outdoor Painter
Susan Cheatham has a degree in landscape Architecture from NC State University. She has spent 20 years working in Raleigh creating beautiful residential and commercial designs for clients. Now retired, she continues her love of the land and expresses it in her paintings. Susan loves painting outdoors in the natural light.
The majority of her paintings are done on location. She likes creating original oil paintings outside and bringing her paintings into the studio 80% finished and polishes offthem with a few more details and highlights.
She recently showed her work at the National Plein Air Convention in Cherokee, NC.
Her work can be seen at the Community Artists Gallery on Middle Street, and her studio is upstairs in the CAGS Annex.
