Susan Cheatham is an oil painter. She has a studio in downtown New Bern at the Community Artists Gallery
and Studios in the upstairs annex where she shows her work. She is the founding member of a group of Artists
called Coastal Carolina Plein Air Painters CCPAP.
Susan likes to paint landscapes, or any subject connected to water. Water has been an ongoing theme for her
work. Changing of seasons is another inspiring time and she uses a different palette of colors for each season.
Susan attended NCSU Design School and is Environmental Designer. She has studied with many artists over
the years, but she studied with Susan Sarback for a decade in her school of Color and Light in Sacramento
She recently traveled to Maine, so look for some new paintings of lighthouses of Maine Islands in Penobscot
Bay and Camden, Maine.
