Mixed Media & Batik Artist
Her creative process is simple yet complex involving many levels and dimensions to create a final piece. Texture and color juxtaposition are important elements. There are undercurrents in her work that the viewers generally do not see but often ask “how was that effect achieved?” They look on the surface. She challenges them to look further to find a deeper meaning.
Processes in her work may comprise batik watercolor, collage, cold wax, or acrylic painting.
She has been a member of several New Bern art groups. With an invitation to join four well recognized local artists, beginning January 2023, she has studio space at Lace Leaf Art Studios, 509 Pollock St, Suite 3, in downtown New Bern. Her work has been selected for regional exhibitions and she has been awarded First Place and Awards of Merit for her mixed media paintings. She is a member of SLMM (the society of layerists in multi-media).
