Oil Painter
New Bern artist, Julie Larick, has been creating art her entire life, learning fundamental drawing and painting skills from her mother, also an artist and art teacher. Julie received her BS in Medical Illustration from Ohio State and worked many years as a Medical Illustrator in Baltimore and St. Louis. She received additional training as a postgraduate painting student at Washington University and studied at the Georgetown Studio School in Washington, DC.
Julie is predominantly an oil painter who uses her skills to represent meaningful parts of her everyday life, simultaneously representing a larger human experience. Her painting practice is well established and she has been a participant in many juried shows over the years. Her work is available at Carolina Creations and The Last Detail. She is also the grades 3-5 Art Teacher at The Epiphany School. Her students are a constant source of inspiration and motivation.
