Julie Larick grew up in Northwest Ohio and always enjoyed art. Her mother, also a painter and art teacher, was influential in her artistic development. Julie received her BS in Medical Illustration and was employed in that field for many years mainly at Washington University Medical School in the Department of Surgery. During this time she continued to pursue painting, studying at The Georgetown Studio School, and Washington University. Her work is a reflection of her illustration background, a deep appreciation for the tradition of oil painting, and her personal surroundings.
Julie continues her studio practice in addition to teaching grades 3-5 art at The Epiphany School of Global Studies where she is constantly inspired by her students. You can see Julie’s work downtown at Carolina Creations and The Last Detail.
