Chris Carroll has been painting and drawing since she was in the 3rd grade. It has always been a part of her life through education and practicing on her own. Painting was on the back burner for many years raising children and participating in her community. However, since moving from Connecticut to Florida and then New Bern, she is able to take classes again and has loved painting with pastels. She does many portraits because she loves peoples faces and what the eyes are saying. Plein Air painting is also a newer passion, and painting outside is clearly a fantastic way to be a part of the nature and the neighborhoods around us.
She is also on the Board of Twin Rivers Art Association, is a member of the Annual New Bern Plein Air Festival, a member of the Appalachian Pastel Society, member of the Portrait Society of Atlanta and the Piedmont Pastel Society. She also teaches private art classes.
Her work can be seen at the Nautical Star Coffee Company.
