Dave Slyck, of Plan “B” Studio, is a displaced or misplaced Yankee enjoying retirement life in inspiring New Bern.
Dave’s enthusiasm in photography and upcycling art and epoxy resin has blossomed over the past several years as he enjoys creating in his workshop. He gets out there often to dream up more ideas.
Dave often combines photography along with various mixed media to create multi-faceted art pieces. Recently, Dave has been exploring epoxy resins as an art form creating seascapes and nautical themed along with crystal sculptures.
Dave has won several awards and his work has been displayed at the Bank of the Arts, Carolina Artist Gallery, and other local shows. He is a member of the Carolina Artist Gallery, Twin Rivers Artist Association, Craven Arts Council and Arts Council of Carteret County and Coastal Photo Club.
Dave’s main goal is to have fun and enjoy creating upcycled art pieces. He believes Art should be used as a creative means to express life’s pleasures. Additionally, Dave wants to share his enjoyment of melding various art forms and upcycling art with you and hope you will enjoy it as well.
