Weaving and Watercolor Artist

Linda started basket weaving in 1985, taking classes in both traditional weaving and watercolor painting during this time.  Her method now combines using watercolored paper strips woven into basketry works.

She has won many awards for Best in Show, and has instructed many classes in the art of basketry, including state conventions in North Carolina, Michigan, Missouri, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida.

Her technique is as follows:  After painting a sheet of watercolor on both sides, she then cuts the paper using a pasta machine. Using traditional weaving techniques, she adds wire and beads to her work, creating a more contemporary style.

Linda is currently represented by the Community Artist Gallery in New Bern.
