Karen Noll Schaaf uses transparent watercolors to express the beauty of the human experience and to capture the unique life moments of her portrait subjects. 

An internationally award-winning artist and instructor, she has been awarded signature status in the National Watercolor Society, the Southern Watercolor Society, the Georgia Watercolor Society, and the Watercolor Society of North Carolina.

Her most recent accolades include selection into the 2023 Watercolor USA National exhibit, the 2023 Southern Watercolor Exhibit and the 2023 Fabriano International Congress. Locally, she was awarded first place in the 2023 ROY G BIV exhibit held at the Bank of the Arts in downtown New Bern.

She is heading to Thessaloniki Greece in September 2023 as a exhibiting artist in the Watercolor International Conference.
