Colorful oil paintings of nature
Carol Tokarski is a New Bern oil painter and a retired arts administrator. She graduated from Sienna Heights College in Adrian Michigan with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in oil painting in 1975. She started her first arts center in 1980 in Michigan followed by a career in stabilizing established art organizations in other states.
Always painting and exhibiting her work throughout her travels, she arrived in New Bern when accepting a position with the Craven Arts Council and Gallery in 1989.
North Carolina homes became the main destination for Tokarski’s large format tree paintings. Her compositions translate the natural beauty of North Carolina trees, plants and wildlife to the canvas with the use of rich color and brush stroke representing nature’s powerful patterns.
