Milliner & Hatter
North Carolina native, Jennifer Haskins, studied art education at UNC-Asheville. She taught art to public school students ages four through fourteen and worked as the art program coordinator at the Tallahassee Senior Center. She and her family moved to New Bern in January 2022.
Jennifer works out of her home studio making art and running her millinery business. She is a self-taught milliner who makes ready-to-wear and custom Panama straw and wool hats using traditional blocking techniques. She loves the sculptural qualities of hat making and as a designer she takes pride in the details of each hat. She finds hat making the perfect blend of design, sculpture, and functional art. She is inspired by the way art, music, and fashion set trends and create a visual history for each generation and is eager to help you tell your story through the perfect hat.
